Home of the Khemri Team

In the known world the dead do not rest easy. From Kislev and Brettonia to the far lands of Lustria there are haunted places where the dead walk and the living fear to tread. But worst of all these places is Khemri - once a the first prosperous human civilization, but now simply known as "the land of the dead".
It all began more than two millenia ago, in the land of Nehekhara east of Araby, and with a single man, who swore to cheat death itself.

The Nehekharans burried their dead in pyramid necropolises, and were so obsessed with death that a large part of their life was devoted to building bigger and better tombs for their afterlife. This is where Nagash was born. Nagash feared his own mortality, and sought out ways to prolong his life - first by drinking an unholy elixir of blood, and with the years it bought him, he perfected the dark art of necromancy. Nagash vile magic reanimated the inhabitants of the necropolises, who burned Khemri to the ground, slew its inhabitants, and wander there to this day.

The Nehekharans were the first of the seeded races to learn of blood bowl. Far to the south of Nehekhara and Khemri, the Nehekharans had encountered the lizardmen - whom the Nehekharans called "al'saurim" - and the lizardmen had taught them the way of the ancient ritual, the way of xa'slee, later known as blood bowl.
Blood Bowl became very popular in Khemri, and when the greatest players died on the pitch, the were rewarded with a deluxe mummification, and were entombed in the great "blood bowl" necropolis.
When Nagash cast his great spell, the reanimated players rose again - and with a purpose. They wandered tirelessly through the desert until they would finally meet opponents who knew the game - so that they could play blood bowl once again.

On the Blood Bowl field the undead may not be particularly fast or agile, (being dead doesn't do much for your reflexes), but they do have both experience and durability beyond the natural limitations. The average undead player has played more games than the players of an entire opposing team put together, and if the casualty rates are high from the beginning of the season, you know that the deadites have a shot at the major trophies.

Khemrian Undead Teams
In the hot land of Khemri, the dead walk again. Animated by Nagash's awful spell, teams of undead have risen from the halls of fame deep within the ancient necropoli. These ancient players wander the world, in search of new opponents.
